What was your degree(s) or focus?

How are you planning to use your degree?

The end goal is to end up working in the public horticulture realm, ideally working with kids in educational programs or camps like what happens at the JC Raulston Arboretum.

Whom do you want to thank?

Anne Spafford, Brian Jackson, Elizabeth Overcash, and Helen Kraus

What is the best thing about studying horticulture at NC State?

I loved the smaller size of the department and how personal it can feel getting to know the professors within the program. It is an extremely warm and welcoming environment and was always incredibly interesting learning the curriculum and the people involved.

Do you have plans for after graduation? Are you currently working?

Currently, I will be working as a preschool teacher where I’ll get to incorporate some of my knowledge of horticulture to teach the older children about plants.

Advisor Comments (Helen Kraus)

Aryanna loves plants and kids! She hopes to find a way to blend those two together. She is a caring, nurturing person that wants to share her love of the natural world with others. Ideally, she will find a career in children’s education with a public garden. Only time will tell. One thing is for sure – anyone that has to opportunity to work with Aryanna and learn from her will be uplifted.
