I plan to pursue a career in Landscape Design and Project Management.
Whom do you want to thank?
I would really love to thank my family and friends for always standing behind me and supporting me in this journey. But most importantly my parents and grandparents because without them, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to attend NC State. I also want to thank my advisor, Julie Sherk, for always believing in the work that I’m doing and for giving me a new perspectives on my projects.
Do you have plans for after graduation? Are you currently working?
Yes; I have started a full time job as a landscape designer and project manager at GreenView Partners.

Abigail is a dedicated and talented student. She was a delight to have in my classes, and she enhanced the class with her real-world work experiences in the industry.
Abigail was part of the group of students who had to navigate COVID. During spring 2020, she was in the Grading and Drainage class with me, which was the only class that was held face-to-face in Kilgore hall. She and her classmates showed tenacity, responsibility, and resilience in wearing masks, keeping social distance, using hand sanitizer and emotionally navigating the stressful time, while continuing to learn and apply new concepts and supporting each other. Her positive attitude and her friendship towards all in the class made this difficult time more tolerable.
Abigail took all my classes and in each one, she was a quick learner, and created a well thought out, beautiful designs that addressed critical issues while focusing on the environment and humans alike. Her work was always polished and professional, and she was always at the top of all the classes she took with me.
She is a leader, self-driven and applies what she learns successfully. While she was in the Digital Media class, just barely learning computer drawings programs, she made the decision to use that knowledge in the Design/Build class, which was being taught concurrently. Although not required, she created all her construction documents drawings in AutoCAD, successfully taking her newly learned skills to the next level.
Abigail is a leader. She helped get groups organized and was engaged in evaluating and giving direction during the construction of the pergola at the JCRA Children’s Outdoor Learning Environment.
Abigail is aligned for success. During her education, she worked at a top-notch industry position and is starting a job that will allow her to design, showcase all her talents, and continue to lead. I am excited to call her my bright, dedicated, and talented (now) colleague.
I wish her great success in her future career in the profession!
