What was your degree(s) or focus?
I studied Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems in the Urban Horticulture concentration. I have a double minor in Plant Biology and Economics.
How are you planning to use your degree?
I plan on using my degree to teach Agriculture! I cannot wait to help students develop a love and appreciation for Ag.
Whom do you want to thank?
I would like to thank my family for always supporting my academic success! I also would like to thank the amazing faculty in the Department of Horticultural Science for their continued commitment to their students. I also would like to thank Dr. Alejandra Huerta for providing me with an amazing undergraduate research experience and for being a great mentor to me throughout our time together. Finally, I want to thank the Brotherhood of Alpha Zeta Honors Fraternity for allowing me to find my “home away from home” at NC State through the amazing friendships I have developed.
What is the best thing about studying horticulture at NC State?
The best thing about studying horticulture at NC State is that you get to learn about something you love from people who share that love with you. Your instructors are as dedicated and passionate about everything they teach you and it is absolutely contagious!

Do you have plans for after graduation? Are you currently working?
I will be attending the University of Connecticut to receive my teaching certification and Masters of Education so that I can teach Agricultural Science.
